Live reporting on May 19 Military Crackdown in Thailand

From Al Jazeera via livestation.com which offers streaming of live content from some TV stations that you can use with your iphone.

The quality of reporting of Al Jazeera on Thailand situation was excellent compared with BBC and CNN. CNN's correspondents came under attack by Thai FB users, a note written here, and further elaborated by Thai blogger here.

Well that first link was interesting.. but Nui... that is what you like to be called right? what about the people and their fight for the future of your country??? Who represents them and if anybody???

the link makes it sound like red shirts are simply trying to get another tyrant into power so they can get rich under him...

In my experience though the state uses its courts to brand a person how is just doing business as usual a terrorist, a sexual predator, a theif etc... whatever they want so they can paint a picture that is easy to use in the media to justify at some point taking that person out... Is that whats going on here. You must know. You seem to be very up on what the situation is...

At the same time im monitoring whats going on in Jamaca where drugs are being used as an excuse to wage war against the poor. The fact is our upper class does all the smuggling in this county with total immunity under national security. Its sad and its true of other countries too... Places like Jamaca where people are so desperate they are willing to die to get out of poverty naturally take up drug growing to survive... as a result you get the networks which try to get out from under the upper class net so they can make all the money they lose to these middlemen...

We need to legalize all drugs worldwide and bring this whole thing out in the open where we can analyse it and make informed decissions... I know that may sound radical at first but 2 things

1 Illegal drugs are as available as ever and allways will be as illegal.

2 This war on drugs is ruining untold lives and creating misery that is infinitely more than any drug use/abuse under a legal system like alcohol.

These facts are unrefutable I have done my homework on them. Like with healthcare we have successfull modles like Denmark where we can see the results and the truth is overwhelmingly obvious.

So i think that while this guy in Jamaca and his father (who was burned to death in his jail cell) may because they were forced to be thugs they are also the leaders of a group of extremely oppressed people... maybe thats not whats happening in thialand? You tell me.

Still waiting for your answer to my post... i worry that you want to go back to retire... ive seen your brothers pics and i understand why you want to go back, it is very very beautiful there a lot like Indonesia... i envy the asians and the way they have managed for millenia to live off their land and keep it too.... very very nice and something for the west to look at in terms of sustaining the place you live or as americans say you dont go to the bathroom where you live.... lol were so crude but theres plenty of wisdom in it... i mean even a dog knows better... when you want them to learn to hold it you just keep them in a cage and they learn... they wont go till you let them out. Thats the best way to pottie train a dog who just cant get it.

Sorry for taking so long to answer. Today was office full day work, (they're in the middle of moving), didn't even get a chance to feed my chefs and waiter in Restaurant City. :)

Nothing is only black and white. The man we're trying to keep away from Thailand, Thaksin Shinawatra is a corrupt businessman whose greed for power knows no limit. The Thais are saying: it really hurt when the Burmese came and burnt our capital (500 years ago) this is even worse because it's been burnt by our own, with that money sent from that greedy businessman who ran away to avoid a two year jail sentence for corruption.

The man, I don't even like to say his name, while he was in power used populist policies to buy favor from the poor. Most of us know that his paying price for votes during his last two elections where he won a good number of votes, was around 500 per head. He upped it to 500 for each day of protest, under a pack of free food, free ride to visit the city, and free entertainment all day round. Of course, the Election Committee couldn't nail him for the vote buying. But our courts took some years to put up enough good evidence to prove that he didn't pay billions of Baht in taxes for the sale of half his stake in his telecommunication company to Singapore.

CNN and BBC is cheering a man whom if allowed to come back to power will eventually become like the US putting Sadam Hussein in power. Who laments about that now. CNN and BBC won't have to live that hell. They would have just one time sold a good story (in their opinion).

There's a popular video on youtube of an American professor debating with one Thai leftist academic who slandered our King and is therefore self-exile to avoid Les Majeste charges, The foreign professor declared in this video that our man, the businessman, was more closer to Mussolini than Berlusconi.

That businessman on the run, while he was in power, also declared a war on drugs and was responsible for some 3,000 dead if not more during his time.

It's sweet of you to worry about my retirement prospects in Thailand. I'm optimistic that we will move through this dark hour. We've done it a number of times in our 700 years of history as a nation. I want to go back because even at retirement age, I believe there is a lot I can still do for my people whether it would be bad or good times.

To answer to your point about drugs, even if it is off topic under this post: What needs to be done first is to cut off the huge demand coming mainly from the US and other developed countries.

If thailand provides heroin and opium through the golden triangle that has existed since before the opium wars and the rich there are in it with rich americans, europeans etc then then its more important that we deal with their addiction to money than to take someones human right to make their oun decissions about their personal life away from them. I can remember smoking thai stick back in the 70s if anything this is about how legalization will take away thei illegal profits... if that doesnt have anything to do with whos in power in places like Thailand and the other major producing countries then i dont know what does.

This may sound crazy to you but i assure you i have proof ... in the US we have several key players in the drug industry who have come forward and admitted that there is a group of wealthy americans at the top... we know bush is one of them who control the flow of drugs into our country... when there is a big bust its simply these people eliminating their competition... not onyly that but this comes form a variety of sources from with in their organizations and the dea fbi cia etc.... and we have the testimony of admirals generals etc... during the iran contra hearings... We also have many records of dea busting these guys on the runways with tons of cocaine and heroine and being told by the bushes to back off of them and let them go... as a matter of fact one of them was a very good freind of bush Hilliard who owned the Venice flight school where the 2 main 911 highjackers were trained...

So you have a constitutional monarchy? Is your King Yul Brynner? lol must be his great grandson eh? Just kidding around...
The King and I
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0049408/
I guess that is based on a true story though... I never did see it however that i can remember. More the kind of movie my mom and dad like. But i really appreciate the help... you see i research political/Economic corruption and argue on the message boards etc... so i need to know the details of whats going on all over the world so that i can connect the dots so to speak.

What youve told me is very interesting and no doubt will come in handy at some point.

Also im sure i will find out which thais are being funded by the US and others to make money off thai resources... this is a sad truth called economic imperialism and its something i want to end for what is supposed to be the greatest democracy on earth. All this history of fighting tyranny and at the same time our country has had a small group of tyrants that have thrived... At some point we will fix this somehow all though how is unclear.

But we have on very smart very honest x drug enforcement admin guy who wrote a great book... in it he infiltrated the golden triangle and i think it was a thai and thai military that were selling the heroin and bush and friends sent his boss to the meeting where he had millions he was going to purchace the drugs to tell him that these people were part of a huge opperation to catch someone bigger and were all honest and helping well that was all bs they are part of a network that finances the cia the same way some terrorists finanace themselves through the black market... of course the big bust that all this was supposed to be about never happened and the drugs still flow through the same people he was trying to bring down to this day. Its all part of the golden triangle and Air America which was a good movie by the way with Mel Gibson and Robert Downy Jr... who has done a lot of political activism in the US too.. He has a pretty interesting movie called "The Last Party" which actually shows another side of politics in the US which is from the point of view of the average america which isnt real exciting but its very "real"

http://www.hulu.com/watch/132300/the-last-party

Ive been told that only US people can view Hulu... im not sure if you can watch this in Mexico or not.
